What will the timetable be?
The students are busy all day long and have an enjoyable educational timetable with some free time between activities. Breakfast, English classes or sports, lunch, afternoon activities, dinner and bedtime.
What is the nationality mix?
At any one time we normally have between 2 and 3 nationalities represented at our camps.
Do you have an emergency contact number and help available?
Are mobile phones allowed?
Yes, but during classes, activities and after lights-out, mobile phones must be turned off.
Will I receive a packing list?
Yes, you will receive a packing list two weeks before arrival.
Do most students come as part of a group, or travel as individuals?
Will you accept a 10 year old or an 18 year old?
No, our age range is from 11 to 17 years of age. But in cases where a student turns 18 at the time of/during the summer camp, we would accept him/her.
Will my child have unsupervised time?
We have staff 24 hours a day on campus, however students are not always supervised for instance when they have free time or when they are sleeping in their rooms. So, a responsible attitude and some maturity is required to be part of this programme.
Can my child go alone off campus?
No, students are not allowed to leave campus without permission, except Sundays when students can visit the local village once they have permission from our team and their group leader as long as their parents have given permission in the enrollment form.
Is my child’s laundry done for them?
Are there any or additional extra costs and how much pocket money does a student need?
Yes, if students stay with host families, otherwise there is a laundry room at the residence for them to do it whenever they please with a cost of 6€.
The programme is all inclusive with no extra costs. Most students bring between 80 and 100 € pocket money for souvenirs, sweets etc.
Is there hot breakfast, lunch and dinner?
Yes, there is always a hot available breakfast and dinner.
Is water always available?
Yes, water is always provided and every student carries a bottle everyday with their packed lunch. Moreover, our group leaders will always have extra bottles at their disposal just in case.
Do you cater for special diets?
Yes we can cater for some special diets, just check with us pre-booking. Please let us know on the fill up form.
What size rooms will the students be staying in the residence?
There are 3 individual rooms with a bathroom within an apartment and 6 apartments on the same floor.
Are the rooms ensuite in the residence?
Yes, each student will have their own room and bathroom, share the kitchen and living room with other 2 group mates. On some occasions 2 students can be placed in a double room.
Are boys and girls in different areas of the residence?
Yes, boys and girls are in different apartments in the residence. As well as group leaders, a man will be the group leader of the boys and will stay on their same floor. A woman will be the group leader of the girls and will stay on their same floor.
Is the residence near the school?
Our residence is a 10 minute walk to the school.
How is the residence supervised at night?
Group leaders sleep in rooms next to each student area and are on call.
When will I receive host family information and what will it be?
You will receive your host family profile including a map of their location 3 weeks pre arrival.
Can I contact the family pre arrival?
Yes, their email address will be on their profile.
Will my child be sharing a room in the host family?
The majority of hosts have twin rooms but some have single or triple rooms. You can request that your child shares with another child, or if you prefer a single room you can also request this and we will do our best to accommodate these requests. Students may share their room with a student/s of the same gender and similar age. Most families host 2 or 3 students at a time.
Will my child be staying with another student of the same nationality or same language?
What happens on the first day of school?
On arrival students will be shown their timetabled activities and will be shown to their correct level class. If the students travel as a group escorted by a leader from their country, the latter will be acquainted with the timetable and procedures.
How many students will be in a class?
There is a maximum of 15 students per class with on average 13 students per class
What qualifications do your teachers have?
All our teachers have a Bachelors Degree and a further Teaching English Qualification and all our teachers are recognised as qualified English Language Teachers.
How do you place students into their correct English Level?
Students are required to do a placement test before traveling, therefore we would be able to put them into the correct group and level. Students are able to move levels should they feel they are not in the correct level.
How many English Levels do you have ?
We have from A1 to C1 Level catering for beginners to advanced learners.
What kind of certificate will my child receive at the end of the course?
Your child will receive a certificate of attainment and attendance and also an individual teacher’s report on their progress.
What are the requirements for the sport programme?
Students must be swimmers and should be willing to step out of their comfort zone.
Any special equipment for the sport programme?
Swimming suit, towel and suitable water footwear is required to give you grip and to protect your feet. We will supply you with a wetsuit, buoyancy aid and helmet. For land activities: loose, comfortable clothing such as tracksuits, runners.
Are sport activities supervised?
Yes! All of our activities are fully supervised by qualified instructors.
When do I pay the fees?
A deposit of 500 € on booking is paid. The remainder of fees are due 4 weeks pre arrival.
What is the refund policy?
If anyone desired to cancel from the moment of enrolling up until 30th May the refund would be 50%. If it took place from 1st June until 20th June the refund would be 30% of the total. No refunds are offered after that date onwards but for unforeseen circumstances only, although it would not be a full refund as some expenses would have already been covered.
Does the price include the flights?
No, you will need to book your own flights.
How do I choose arrival and departure dates and times?
We base a 2 week stay on 14 nights accommodation, 3 weeks on 21 nights and 4 weeks on 28 nights. Most students arrive on Sunday and depart on the corresponding Saturday.
We offer a free airport transfer service. We can organise airport transfers for arrivals on Sundays and departure on Saturdays both between 8am and 8pm. Should you require dates or transfers outside of these times, please check with us for availability and pricing.
How does your airport transfer work for my child?
We get a member of our staff to wait for your child at the airport with a sign as long as the arrival is on a Sunday. We also ensure we have the group leader or child’s mobile number and they have our emergency number in case of any delay etc.
Will you help my child with check in at the airport?
Yes, just request help on departure and our driver will help your child check in and bring them as far as security if you wish and there is no extra charge for this as long as it is on a Saturday. In pre-organised groups this is the leader’s task.
Can I drop my child to the residence directly?
Yes, we will coordinate a time to meet at the residence.
Can you provide an invitation letter for visa purposes?
Yes, we provide letters for all students coming from outside the EU who need a visa to enter Ireland.
